Valencia to face Victory in the final

Security and club officials have to run into the scene to save the Sri Lankan from Bel Hassan

"I expect a similar performance
in the final "

Male, MALDIVES - FA Cup and Dhivehi League champion New Radiant had another nightmare in ongoing President’s Cup. Valencia took the control of the game from two goals from captain Assad and Habeeb and New Radiant found no way to escape from the disaster.

Although Fazeel gave a little hope for them in the dying minutes of the first half, but Binma’s tactics worked really fine for Valencia in stopping the blues in the second period.

Sri Lank referee Peiris, who showed only one card in his first match as in charge played between New Radiant and Victory, showed seven yellows tonight. Four bookings went New Radiant’s way, in which Bel Hassan, Nasir, Ali Umar and Ashfaag were all booked.

Aslam saved the first shot of the game taken by Mausoom in the 8th minute. In the same minute, Fazeel made a shot the opposite way and Rameez parried away the ball to a corner.

Three minutes later Ali Umar made a shot which gave no trouble to Valencia and went too wide.

In the 29th minute, Akram showed a good individual skill but wasn’t enough to break the dead lock.

A minute later, Akram took Valencia’s corner and his brother and the captain Assad scored a well deserved goal for Valencia.

Without much trouble to either side, Valencia broke the heart of New Radiant in the 39th minute.

Habeeb dribbled all the way into the heart of opponent’s defense and beat keeper Aslam to put the ball into the back of New Radiant’s net. The goal many described as one of the best goals of this tournament in this year.

With a broken heart New Radiant were forced to increase the working rate to make themselves heard on the pitch.

Ibrahim Fazeel then scored his 21st goal of this season in the extra period of first half. Hussain Shimaz took a timely cross and Fazeel’s timely header gave no chance to Rameez.

Early in the second half, a shot from Habeeb missed the target by inches.

In the 51st minute, Fazeel couldn’t meet Shimaz’s cross and a chance was wasted away.

One of the best chances of this half was the free kick from Fazeel in the 61st minute, which hit the cross bar.

In the 73rd minute, a header from Shinaz missed the target by inches, and a minute later a shot from him also went on the same fashion.

In the 84th minute, Valencia could have increased the margin but for their disappointment unmarked Azim missed the target in front of the goal. Mausoom played unselfishly to Azim and his shot went off target.

New Radiant was in real pressure when the match was approaching the full time and Ali Umar glued the ball into the back of Valencia net in the 88th minute, but was offside.

After the final whistle some of New Radiant players faced the referee in frustration, Bel Hassan was the main focus of the incident. Ali Umar and Ashfaag have to block Bel Hassan’s way and they did it quite well to control their player.

After the match Valencia coach Binma thanked his players for the excellent performance.

‘First of all I would like to thank my players for the performance and the discipline they showed tonight, that is the reason we won tonight’ Binma started.

‘I expect a similar performance in the final and win the tournament’

New Radiant coach Goffa first congratulated Valencia for their outstanding performance and insisted this is a not a bad season for New Radiant.

‘I would like to congratulate Valencia for the performance they have shown through out the match’

Maldivesoccer then asked about the ‘must win’ situation he highlighted after Victory match.

‘Even though we lost the match, this is not a bad season for New Radiant. We won Dhivehi League and I don’t think this is a bad season for us’ He replied.

The final match will be played on 18th of this month. Defending champions Victory will face Valencia in the final.

This is the fourth consecutive time Valencia beat New Radiant in this season.

im a teen gal who luvs futball. nd who luvs valencia more than anythng. im very happy dat atleast valencia had played dat much. they tried their level best. "WELDONE VALENCIA." im happy nd proud of u. u survived. i wish nd hope dat u wil play da same way nd wil try to win da final. i fell very angry nd very sad to c dat new radient's supporters nd sum of da players were behavin badly. this wil surely show a very bad effect on da future. cox this matches r watchd by da young player, who wil b performin in da future. hope new radient wil stop these kinda thngs nd wil try to play fair play games in da future. - futhna

too bad newradiants antics failed. NRSC you should have made the supporters come on the field just after the second goal..so u could ask the FAM for a replay of the match on another day...sorry maybe next time dho...Congratulations to Valencia to a well deserved victory. Hope you win the cup. - katheebu

its seams new radiant and there suporters can get good lesion.foot ball is desent game.if new radiant and new supoerters do this it will gowrong and they will loose again.and for Azim your team has lost more then five hame so dont be proudt u r self, and dont use abusive language to other teams.its good lesion for you,you have to belive god is there.and this is not only newradiant ground,so change your personalty. - ibbe
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hahahaha, New coach said,"NRSC always wins in a must win situation." Yaa they win all the matches in a "must win" situation except Valencia who has beaten NRSC 4 times in a row this year. Last year's Valencia did not win a single match vs. NRSC. But this "weak, fragile" Valencia beat NRSC more than any other team in the Maldives. And NRSC coach said he would not let Dhagandey play in this crucial match, but NRSC management is superior to New's head coach's decision. Very funny isn't it. To new management: IF YOU WANT TO IMPROVE THE LEVEL OF MALDIVIAN FOOTBALL YOU SHOULD NOT ALLOW PLAYERS WHO AREN'T DESCIPLINED (NO MATTER HOW GREAT THEY ARE)  AND MUST OBEY TO WHAT YOUR HEAD COACH SAY. - Moosa

Hey Goffa. U told after 1st semifinal match 1st mach is not important mach. what about the 2nd mactch. did  New Radiant won the match.

great work and nice effort VALENCIA!
The only thing is that valencia canot play with same in each game..they may play well today but not tommorow. If that is solved, valencia could be the best team!AND for NRSC,your supporters and players decipline is responsible for your declining  play!! - yello boy
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Congrats Valencia. Youve proven your worthiness.I cant wait to watch the fianl match. With the current form of valencia i belive the final match will be the match of the season. Boo hoo for NRSC. Lack of dicipline has let them down. - al

Congrats Valencia. Beating NewRadient for the 4th time in a row..what an achievement. keep  up the good work Binma. the players did very well to stop the  newradient strikers especially in the 2nd half and the forward line were great too. could have scored 5 goals but were unlucky.
i would still like to say newradient supporters are the worst supporters a team could have and they have proven it again last night.
hope for a much better Valencia in the final match - yellowfever
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

dont worry..newradiant..u are the best team of this season.....actually newradiant can win last nitght match but they gave the chance to velencia to get the title.....newradiant u are the best...victory has to be fined from 15000 rf beacuse their supporters last night make the trouble..bringing banners to the stadium... - bLUedEVILS
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Congrats Valencia. I ve to insist that as a team they are the best. Reason behind is they are well deciplined. On the contrary what we see from other teams are not so professional. Even if it is Asfaaq, Butia,Nakata, Gerard, Ronaldo or Zidane decipline rules. I agree with issey's comments on this regard. THose who lack decipline shoudnt be given a chance to play. Thats how it happenening all over the world. - Visioner
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Congrats Valencia, Congrats Victory and New Radiant, try to discipline your players. The conduct of Ali Ashfaag and some New players were highlighted by GOFFA and this needs attention from all concerned. If they lack the discipline, they should not be given a chance even in the under 23 team even thought they are top class players. - Issey
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

congra CLUB VALENCIA... keep up the good work... now i dont mind anybody get the cup... still NRSC coach will say that this is not a important match... what to do now... bye bye NRSC end of the season for NRSC... - rEDdEVILS
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well done Valencia, you beat a team with 13 players comprising the WEST linesman and the referee. Congratulations. Valencia could have easily won 5-1 but they were unlucky not score through several created brilliantly chances in the 2nd half.  NRSC players twice elbowed in the 2nd half, but no card. Dhagandey and Ali Umar made several fouls but only a card to NRSC captain. In the 2nd half a New defender saved a ball with his HANDS, but the referee JUST GAVE A FREE KICK. He deliberately put his both hands to stop a Valencia ball. What's this referee? Does he have a FIFA badge? And in the 1st half WESTERN Linesman did many favours to New Radiant by giving many throws. To FAM: Pls  deploy neutral officials for the final match.

What a sweet way to send New Radiant out of the prestigious tournament. Valencia has beaten New Radiant four times in a row. This is somthing that no other Valencia did in the last decade. Congratulations. Beat Victory and lift the cup. - Yellows
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

what is this the main problem is they dont accept when they LOOSE.macha this is football both teams cant win .three teams cant play one match and thre is no reason in blaming always refrees and even today the NRSC suppoters threw water bottles what a shame i dont think they r going to win if they trew water tanks even hehehe Comme on NRSC suppoters accept when u loose.and dont try to make the beautifull game worse like u all .SEE U ALL NEXT BYE BYE - mureyyy
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

congrats Valencia!!
u have given us all a perfect gift..
i pray valencia win the tounament
valencia has been not bad in the season..but the only factor they lacked was luck
i hope this time luck will b in our way!!
Tonite also newradiant supporters tried to do the same trick they did to victory but valencia has beaten them 4 th time in a row...
i guess the rocket azim sent went too wrong...
i guess its more than 5 defeats for newradiant...the rockets were far too many ....
To see that valencia beat them four time
In FA cup final...valencia almost caught newradiant...
I know victory is a good team with great team work...but if valencia tried...it will be all valencia's cup!!1

Congrats Again!!
U can touch the trophy...insha Allah - ahmed
